Prince Andrew will be the subject of a satirical TV musical that will “re-imagine” a disastrous 2019 interview discussing his ties with late child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Queen Elizabeth II’s second son stood down from royal duties after the November 2019 interview.

UK broadcaster Channel 4 will air the 60-minute musical, starring comedian Kieran Hodgson, in its upcoming season of shows.

Channel 4 said the BBC Newsnight interview, widely regarded as a public relations catastrophe for the Duke of York, will be “re-imagined” as part of the musical.

Critics tore into the prince for appearing to show no empathy for the abused victims of Epstein, who killed himself in prison in August 2019.

Mr Hodgson will lead a cast of comics in Prince Andrew: The Musical, a program described as a “satirical send-up of the life and times” of the duke set to a musical score.

Prince Andrew spoke to Emily Maitlis about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein on BBC’s Newsnight.

The show will be part of a 40th-anniversary season of shows called Truth or Dare for Channel 4, which launched in 1982.

It has not yet been announced exactly when it will air.

Prince Andrew has been in UK headlines for years due to his marriage and divorce with Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson.

But he has tried to stay out of the public spotlight after reaching a multi-million-pound settlement last year with American -Australian woman Virginia Giuffre, who filed a lawsuit in the United States accusing him of sexual assault when she was 17.

Prince Andrew was stripped of his honorary military titles in January and told he could no longer use the title “his royal highness.”
