Ginger for Asthma

Ginger for Asthma: New Treatments

Read Time:1 Minute, 2 Second

Many people consider their asthma disease to be a kind of stigma, so they are embarrassed by it. This factor comes from the times when asthma was perceived as a kind of psychological disease.

But your asthma is not anyone’s fault and, fortunately, modern methods of treatment allow you to get rid of its symptoms.

Researchers at Columbia University found that ginger can make breathing easier for people with asthma.

Constriction of the bronchioles, which carry air in and out of the lungs, is how asthma is expressed. Asthma medications relax the smooth muscles in the airway walls.

“Recently, unfortunately, asthma is spreading more and more. Over the past 30-40 years, not a large number of drugs have been found that alleviate the symptoms of this disease. The study showed that the purified components of ginger work in conjunction with beta-agonists to relax the muscles of the respiratory tract,” says Elizabeth, a doctor from Columbia University.

Combining traditional asthma medications with ginger gives better results than using the drug alone.

“Now that we have understood the mechanism of action of the components of ginger on the respiratory tract, there is an opportunity to use this knowledge for therapeutic methods to relieve asthma symptoms,” the doctors assure.
