
Five Proven Food Named To Relieve Stress And Anxiety
Leading specialist in endocrinology, nutritionist of the Nearmedic clinic Irina Lindunen named products for stress relief. It is reported by Gazeta.Ru.
According to her, oysters, seafood and sunflower seeds contain substances that help relieve emotional stress. She noted that shellfish are rich in amino acids, such as taurine, which improves mood. They also contain vitamin B12, zinc, copper, manganese, which affect mood.
The endocrinologist also added that sunflower seeds contain vitamin E, which can improve mood. “This fat-soluble vitamin has a powerful antioxidant effect. And chronic stress is sometimes associated with vitamin E deficiency,” she explained.
Also, to relieve stress, eggs, parsley and garlic should be included in the diet, the specialist noted. Broccoli, sweet potatoes, and chickpeas also help “fight depression symptoms.”
Lindunen also recommended drinking chamomile tea. According to her, chamomile extract improves the quality of sleep and reduces the symptoms of anxiety and depression. “If you have sleep disorders, I recommend giving up caffeinated drinks after 2 p.m., or completely switching to drinking chamomile tea,” she emphasized.
Earlier, neurologist Pavel Khoroshev warned that the use of certain nutritional supplements leads to headaches. “The sweetener aspartame and the flavor enhancer glutamate can also cause migraine attacks,” Khoroshev noted.
